Q. What library services and resources are available for alumni?
Alumni are welcome to use the libraries on campus for access to books, articles, and other resources free of charge.
Library cards are issued at the Circulation Desk for a 12-month period. There is no charge for a card. Alumni may borrow books for check out, but access to electronic material is limited to the public terminals located in Shain Library.
- Shain Library is open to Alumni during regularly scheduled hours. Please see the Information Services website for updated hours (http://conncoll.libcal.com/)
- There is a check-out limit of 10 items. Books and media are checked out for a 28 day loan. Interlibrary loan services are available to current students, faculty and staff only.
- Access to databases and electronic journal articles is limited to the stand-up computer terminals in Shain Library.
- Access to the Digital Commons @ Connecticut College (https://digitalcommons.conncoll.edu/) is free and accessible from any computer. Digital Commons houses published and unpublished work by faculty and students as well as publications of College departments and offices.

If you are unable to come to campus to use the Shain Library, many public libraries subscribe to myriad online databases and digital repositories. Please contact your local public library for information.
